Those of you who were born in the 60s, 70s and maybe even the 80s will remember the amazing rock music that came out of the 90s! The grudge days, the soft rock and the crazy ska/punk too! I was(still am) a massive fn of the grudge days of Nirvana, Soundgarden, Red Hot Chili Peppers and The Stone Temple Pilots. Those of you that were there will also remember the more melodic but haunting tunes of the band Live! The Dolphins Cry, Run to the Water, We Walk the Dream and The River from the Throwing Copper EP! All amazing classic tunes.
Ed Kowalczyk who was the song writer, vocal and rhythm guitar for Live did a world tour to celebrate the 21 years since the initial release of that album and Cape Town was one of his stops. The incredible Andy Mac from Amp events and Mac Stanley was the promoter who brought him out to entertain South Africa with shows in Johannesburg and Cape Town’s Grand Arena.
I got to shoot both nights here in Cape Town with the intimate set acoustic set up of only Ed and a lead guitar (I forget his name…)
Music photography is one of my passions. I can’t play but I love to be in with the bands. Check out some of my shots…
Some of the fans got lost in the lyrics!!
