Phil is from Johannesburg. Sarah is from Dublin. They met in Dublin and hit it off straight away. Lots of fun and laughs and two beautiful daughters later, they decided to tie the knot in beautiful Montagu in the Koo valley in the Cape. This is no ordinary couple and I found that I shared a lot of similar interests in music and history. 🙂
Sarah walked down the aisle to the beautiful Nick Cave song, ‘Into My Arms’; a haunting love song that is one of my favourites. The party that evening was a joyous one with lots of reckless abandon and a great soundtrack!
Sarah’s dress is one of the most exquisite I have ever photographed! The story behind the dress is as beautiful as it is. Sarah’s Godmother was a seamstress for John Galliano and worked on this dress. Once completed, he decided he did not want to use it anymore. She asked to keep it and gave it to her niece for her wedding in the 80s. It was then used by Sarah’s aunt and Sarah was a flower girl and asked her aunt if she could use the dress for her wedding one day. One day came and the dress looked amazing on her! clinging to her her curves and falling perfectly and accentuating her womanly form as only a Galliano dress does.
