Mark, Sian and I go way back! Mark and I were both bartenders in Cape Town in the 90s and I met Sian soon after arriving in London in the early 2000’s soon after they started dating.
Mark is South African and Sian is Welsh but grew up in Hong Kong and England. They now live in Sydney, Australia. So as you can imagine the guest list was pretty diversified with friends from all over the world coming to witness their marriage, South Africa, Hong Kong, Australia, Canada and the United States. The wedding also had a few elements from the different cultures like the dragon dance and the Lysie tree and the african statuettes as gifts.
Sian’s family owns a farm on the outskirts of the smallest city in Britain, St Davids. St Davids also has one of the oldest cathedrals in the UK, dating back from the 12th century. This is where they had their ceremony. Their reception was in the Bishop’s Castle ruins behind the cathedral and it made for a very dramatic backdrop for their wedding!
It was such an awesome privilege to document your wedding day and to be there to see the 2 of you having so much fun. Thanks for trusting me. I was truly blessed to have this as my first international/destination wedding! 🙂
